"Mom" ~ Theme Thursday ~ 5/9/13

Hi there and welcome to my little spot on the web!
I'm so happy to link up today with
for her super fun blog hop,

Wow, love this idea for a theme as we near Mother's Day.
Fantastic idea!

Happy "early" Mother's Day to all Moms who are clicking in!

This week's theme found me gathering pictures of
MY Mom as well as a few shots of ME with my kids!
Mom at Rockaway Beach, Queens, circa 1940
Mom passed into Eternal Life two weeks to the day before her 88th birthday.
  My piece,
is  a short reflection on Mom's life and times.

These were taken on Christmas  Day 2008,
here i  my home,
exactly one month before Mom passed.

It is REALLY hard to choose just a few
from the wealth of pictures on hand, isn't it?

Thirteen years into MY Mom journey,
I begin to appreciate and understand all Mom did for us.
Thank God were had honestly and closeness.
As the years roll on without her, I realize how important that is.
The memories are filled with that.

Shots of ME and my kids?

I'm the one usually behind the lens, doing the pointing and clicking.
Buuuuuuuut....
here are a few:
I love this one, taken in Glacier National Park in July 2012.
Isn't it just gorgeous?

The one below was snapped by a kindly passer-by at
the March for Life in DC this past January.
Wow, were we freezing, wet and completely wiped out.
BUT yet .....  invigorated!
The face of the pro life movement is fresh, young and vital
and we are thrilled to be a part of it!
Hey, perhaps you were there as well and we passed on Constitution Avenue? )

And this last one was just taken on Holy Saturday of this year,
which was also my birthday!

Thank you, friends, for visiting!
And please head over to Cari's blog for more
 "Moms" and  Theme Thursday!

Have a lovely and peaceful day!

 Until next time,

~Chris

  1. That picture of your mom on the beach? Love! Another blogger noted how glamorous everyone looked in the 40s and 50s, like the whole world was a movie star. You mom fits the bill!

  2. Your mother is gorgeous! I just love the photos of her when she was young. The grandma photos really got me, though. What blessings to have her around and close. I'm sorry for your loss, but glad you had (have!) such a great mom.
