Into the Sea, Out of the Tomb! Easter Basket Goodie < Book Review and Giveaway>

Jesus, Jonah and the Resurrection story?
Yes indeed!
Maura Roan McKeegan has skillfully and endearingly woven
these classic bible stories, the cornerstones of our faith,
into a brand new beautifully illustrated picture book for kids.
is available from the leading Catholic company, Emmaus Road Publishers,
just in time to grace those Easter baskets.

I was captivated by the author's compelling manner of juxtaposing events and objects
in the lives and missions of our heroes using
a fascinating method of Biblical interpretation, known as Biblical typology.
I'm always interested in learning more about my faith and I was curious about
typology--I had never heard of this field...have you?
Well, author Mrs Mckeegan  and illustrator Ted Schluenderfritz
have creatively presented these Old and New Testament stories,
displaying the missions chosen by God for Jonah and for Jesus in
Into the Sea, Out of the Tomb.
Interesting, parallel  experiences and
direct scripture verses  from the old and new testaments
help describe the trials and triumphs or our heroes, Jonah and Jesus.
I was intrigued; my kids were intrigued and I have a feeling your family
will be as well!
I'd like to thank the team at Emmaus Road for
the opportunity to discuss Into the Sea -
This is certainly
one of the many advantages to blogging:
The people, the experiences, the opportunities to grow in knowledge,
to share our faith.
I've been blessed.
