The Art of Giving Part 2: Parade of Artwork~ Artful Friday

Welcome!
I'm so happy you stopped by for part 2 in
on combining art and service
to help the  impoverished of Honduras.
I'm thrilled not only to be part of a team of bloggers promoting the work of
Cross Catholic Outreach, but to be participating
as a family in the online art show to raise
money for their efforts as well.
All the donations will be given directly to Cross Catholic Outreach
and used to feed impoverished children and families in
 El Progreso, Honduras
at the Prince of Peace Nutrition Center.

If you missed our first post about this event please click here for all the details.

AND in addition to the online art show at  Cross Catholic's s site,
all of us on the team are sharing our kids' work THIS WEEK.
My children recently created and have entered these at
Cross Catholic slideshow.~
More will be added tomorrow....

The above crucifix art
( a how-to is posted here)
 was created on Good Friday,
but the boys wished to submit the pieces
for Cross Catholic's sideshow.

The kids made these handprint with sponge stars
seven ( ! )  Christmases ago
and decided to add them
to our submissions as well.
We take these and other creations out to display each December.~

In honor of Our Lady of Guadelupe's feast day next week:
Isn't this a gorgeous picture??

"Watercolor"

"Pug"

"Starling"
~Doctor Who Art~
"The Raggedy Doctor"

"Doctor Who Paper Lantern"
My younger son created this recently and wanted to add it to the slideshow.
It makes a cool nightlight for his room when a
battery operated votive candle is placed within.
My kids have been asking family and friends to make donations
on behalf of their art work.
They have sent out this letter, too!

On behalf of my young artists I humbly ask that you donate to Cross Catholic Outreach. Please consider supporting them and donating here in their name.
(write their name(s) in the comment box when donating.)
All donations go directly to Cross Catholic Outreach for the poor in Honduras.
Thank you for any help you can give!
You can see all the art work that all the kids have created on Flickr ~ Click here.
(New art is added every few days.)

  1. Your boys are quite the artists, Chris! I love how you are teaching them about giving. It is so important during this season. I love teaching my kids about both art and giving as well :)! Another thing we have in common. I am not getting your posts by email for some reason. I answered you under my Santa Needs Caffeine post. If you have a chance would you come by and see if you can see my amazon link yet. My reply over there explains where it should be. Thanks for your help! I'll let you know when I start getting emails from you again!

  4. Hi my sweet friend Chris! I left you a comment on this a few days ago but it looks like it didn't go through :(. I may have accidentally done it in my Safari browser which never works for some reason... First, I wanted to tell you those boys of yours are awesome artists! I love that you teach them about both art and giving. I do the same with my kids. Two important things for them to respect.
Second, I wanted to let you know I am still not getting your posts by email. I left you a reply under my Santa Needs Caffeine post letting you know and asking you if you are able to see my Amazon link yet. If you get a chance, please check for me. It says in the reply where you should see it. Thanks for your help! I really appreciate you!
