7 Easy Wintry & Valentine Crafts, Games and Books

Welcome friends!
Since Valentine's day is right around the corner,
I'm stopping in briefly to share few of the fun,
tried and true crafts and resources that we've enjoyed over the past years
as we've celebrated Valentine's day and ole man winter!
I hope you find a few ideas that you'd like to adapt into your
own homeschool and family fun time!

Have you read this one yet?
Adorable for all ages!!

Looking for a book with the origins of this holiday?
Look no further!
This is a family staple that we read every year!

Got boys?
Say no more.

We read this one Valentine's day yeeeeeears ago and every year,
they want it again and again.
Some tradition. ( ! )

 Valentine Craft~
John 3:16

First time we've actually done this pretty popular craft. How cute, how easy and how fun!
My younger son created this one, which I found several Valentine's Days ago here.

Some shots of the project:

 "Hearts" Bingo~
Math/Art

Boards created by the boys, using  math skills, of course, in order to measure and to decide which factors and multiples would be written on the boards.  We played some fun, traditional "bingo," using "HEARTS" instead. ( Ex ~ H8 )

But we also practiced math facts.
For example~ "S  2x2x3" or "R 77 divided by  7" or "T 5 squared plus 3"

Of course, there were Valentine-ish prizes!

Milk Gallon Snowman:
Isn't this project adorable for a winter afternoon? I found it at The Better Mom along with many other great, fun finds! And how perfect for a day such as today where my corner of the world will be hit with a little snow...just a little.....

Above, is a photo of the milk gallon snowman that one of my kids created. Cute, right?

Just cut a hole in the back of the container and put a strand of white/clear Christmas lights in. Decorate the front, and there you go! I thought my kids may find this a bit juvenile, but they loved it. It looks very pretty on a table, as the sole light in the room, on a winter's night!

 Marshmallow Snowman:

Here's another adorable, fun project for a day such as today~
I also stumbled onto this at The Better Mom.
You just need white paint, black paint, pretzels for arms and of course,
mini marshmallows!
This is unfinished...but here you go:
