7 Great Books to Give this Holiday Season! { #QT/ #Open Book }

Because a book makes the best gift!
Let's get right to it.......
how about some choices for holiday/ seasonal reads?

Debbie Macomber's
I'm in the middle of the Cedar Cove creator's latest!
Debbie's books are light, easy reading.
Likable characters, relatable situations.
Soooooo fun.

David Sedaris's holiday-themed essays
(for the whole year, not just Christmas)

Nancy Drew meets Jane Austen in this murder mystery
set on Christmas Eve, 1814.

Nothing beats a  Mary Higgins Clark novel, right?
She is seriously The Best suspense writer of today.
At 88 years of age, she can still scare the daylights out of me....
and keep me guessing!
<here's Ms Clark's latest!>

But this one's my fave Christmas story:

What's Christmas without Hans Christian Andersen's
 classic The  Little Match Girl?

And this particular version features  the luminous art of Caldecott Honor
 recipient Jerry Pinkney.

Talk about a blat from the past:

  1. Those sound like great suggestions!
    Merry Christmas!

    1. Thanks so much Mary!

      I hope you may have found a new title of interest---for yourself or a gift!

      Thanks for visiting!

  2. What a fun post! I've read so many golden books. That book sounds fun. I'll have to check it out! I'm your neighbor at the book linkup.

    1. It does sound like a unique title, doesn't it?

      Thanks for stopping by Tara!

  3. Thoughtful list. I agree, Max Lucado's book completes the list :)

  4. I love this list! Mary Higgins Clark is 88??? Wow. I enjoyed one of her Christmas ones - Silent Night, I think. And I really should get around to reading a Debbie Macomber book. I hear so much about her. And I'm adding Jane and the 12 Days of Christmas, the book about Little Golden books, and The Little Match Girl to my to-be-read list!

    1. I know, how is it possible that MHC is in her late 80s??

      Thank you for visiting Carolyn!
